Tovino Thomas’s next movie is titled as Oru Kuprasidha Payyan

Tovino Thomas’s next movie is titled as Oru Kuprasidha Payyan. Director and actor Madhupal will be directing the movie. 

Madhupal has always chosen daring subjects based on true incidents for his directorials – be it Ozhimuri or Thalappavu. His upcoming movie, Oru Kuprasidha Payyan, too follows the same trend and is inspired from several real-life murder cases in Kerala “that has shook the conscience of the people”. 

Nimisha Sajayan will be playing the female lead of the movie. In an interview director Madhupal said about the movie that, “The film is about a murder investigation. In our country, if one fine day, the police declare that someone is the culprit even without sufficient proof, the people are forced to believe it. So, any person can get framed for any crime these days and that’s the thread we are trying to explore in the film.”
Madhupal also said that “A lot of real-life murder cases in Kerala have served as inspiration for the story,” adding that Jeevan Job Thomas has scripted the movie. On choosing Tovino for the movie, the director says, “It’s a role that requires the actor to go beyond the norm in terms of performance and characterization. I thought Tovino was apt for this role. It’s the same with casting Nimisha.” Actor Tovino said that, “I have loved watching Madhupal sir’s films and when he narrated the story almost a year ago, I was hooked. It’s got a lot of scope for acting and he’s someone who has mastered the skill of extracting the maximum out of an actor.” 

For Tovino, the movie will mark only the second time he’s teaming up with a veteran director, the previous being for Kamal’s Aami. The team will be first shooting a few scenes about Vaikom Ashtami. The major part of the filming though will only begin in February 2018. Lijomol Jose, Saranya Ponvannan, Alencier Ley, Nedumudi Venu, Sujith Shankar, Pasupathy, Saiju Kurup, Sudheer Karamana, Balu Varghese and G Suresh Kumar are playing prominent roles in the movie.
