Actress Megha Mathew who was seen in Tovino Thomas’s Oru Mexican Aparatha will be next seen in Asif Ali’s Mandaram Movie.
Megha Mathew played the Kalathilakam in Tovino Thomas’ Oru Mexican Aparatha. Mandaaram, which has Asif Ali in the lead is directed by debutant Vijesh Vijay. The actress is paired alongside Harisree Asokan’s son Arjun in the film and will be seen in three looks. “I play Remya, who is the college mate of Arjun’s character and later gets married to him. I will be seen in a naadan avatar in my college days and in a modern look in the post-marriage scenes which are set in Bengaluru,” says the Kottayam-based actress.
Megha, who is currently pursuing her Masters in Commerce, is also playing the lead role in Boban Samuel’s Vikadakumaran, which is scripted by Y V Rajesh. “The movie revolves around events that happen in a court, and I play an advocate in it,” she says. The film has Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan fame Vishnu playing the lead along with it Dharmajan Bolgatty.
In Mandaram Asif Ali will be paired up opposite Anarkali Marikar. The buzz is that the movie which has a strong romance angle shows Asif’s character over a span of 25 years. “The story spans 25-plus years – from the protagonist’s childhood to his life at 32. So, Asif will be seen in different appearances in each stage of the character’s life,” says Vijesh. He added, “It’s about how a romance changes a person’s life, and also how grandparents, parents and friends influence his love life,” says the filmmaker. “The father-son relationship is also pivotal part of the story.”The shoot of the movie, which is on, has moved to Wagamon.
Thrissur, Ernakulam, Wagamon, Pondicherry, Kolkata and places in Arunachal Pradesh are also the shooting locations. The movie tracks the protagonist’s tryst with romance and how it changes the perception of life. Mandaram will also have Jacob Gregory, Arjun Asokan and Bhagath Manuel in significant roles.
