Sara Ali Khan to play the heroin of Ranveer Singh in Simmba!

Ranveer Singh, who is on a career high right now after the success of Padmaavat, has two big releases coming up. Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy opposite Alia Bhatt and Rohit Shetty’s Simmba which is touted to be an out and out action entertainer and is a remake of the Telugu film Temper starring Jr. NTR. 

This is the first time that the actor will be collaborating with Rohit Shetty and expectations are high from the film. Now, it has been announced that Sara Ali Khan will be playing the female lead in the movie. 

Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty announced ‘Simmba’ last year which will be produced by Karan Johar. Now, Sara Khan has joined the star cast of much awaited Simmba with Ranveer Singh and it is a big deal to get to work in a Rohit Shetty film even before your first film is released.
According to the announcements, Sara’s first film ‘Kedarnath’ is going to release on Christmas 2018 and oddly enough similar is the case for ‘Simmba’, which is a clear sign that one of those films will move from their release date as they simply can’t clash now. 

Simmba is Ranveer’s first outing with blockbuster director Rohit Shetty and he will be essaying the role of a notorious cop in the film. Simmba is the remake of a Telugu film called ‘Temper’, which stars NTR Jr. in the lead role. Temper was a massive hit and similar are the expectations from Simmba. Rohit is also coming off a massive blockbuster by the name of Golmaal Again and stars are now aligned in the right position for them to work together.

Ranveer is currently shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’, which will be released on 14 February, 2019. Post Gully Boy, he will start shooting for Simmba as it has to release on already very crowded Christmas.
