Kris Srikkanth and Sunil Gavaskar are the only Indian opening pair to be dismissed for a duck twice in the same innings. The first instance was in 1981 against England at Ahmedabad. The second such instance was in the 1983 World Cup match against Zimbabwe at Tunbridge Wells.

2.Sachin Tendulkar and Manoj Prabhakar Sachin Tendulkar and Manoj Prabhakar
Sachin Tendulkar formed a formidable opening partnership with the likes of Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag later in his career. However, in 1994, Tendulkar opened the batting with all-rounder Manoj Prabhakar in 1994.Prabhakar was out first ball, while Tendulkar was second off the second ball he faced. However, India went on to win the match by 8 runs.

3.MSK Prasad and Sadagoppan Ramesh MSK Prasad and Sadagoppan Ramesh
With just 191 to win, India got off to the worst possible start as their openers MSK Prasad and Sadagoppan Ramesh were dismissed without troubling the scorers. The tail wagged to a certain extent but that was not enough to prevent West Indies from registering a thumping 70-run victory at Toronto.

4.Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly
Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly terrified bowlers on their days, but both of them had an off day together in a match against Sri Lanka at SSC in 2001.Sehwag was out first ball off Chaminda Vaas. The left-arm swing bowler struck again, this time removing Ganguly for a 16-ball duck.

5.Parthiv Patel and Sanjay Bangar Parthiv_Patel
Sanjay Bangar and Parthiv Patel have not opened the innings for India many times. In one such rare instance, Bangar and Parthiv opened the innings against Zimbabwe in a tri-series at Adelaide.Heath Streak got rid of both the openers for naught. However, India went on to win the match by 3 runs, thanks to a VVS Laxman’s 131.
