Vinayan’s Chaalakudikkaran Changathi gets its First Look Poster

Director Vinayan’s upcoming movie Chaalakudikkaran Changathi is based on the life of late actor Kalabhavan Mani which is written by Vinayan himself. In the movie actor Senthil plays the role of Kalabhavan Mani.Three different stages of Mani’s life is shown in this movie.

It would not be a biopic on the life of Kalabhavan Mani, but a tribute to the versatile actor. Glastone(Shaji) bankrolls the movie under the banner of Alpha Films. Actor Senthil became popular among the mini screen viewers through various comedy programs and Television serials. He had never handled this kind of character ever in his acting career and would be a challenging one for him.

Salim Kumar, Joju George, Joy Mathew, Sunil Sugatha, Ramesh Pisharody and many others are also playing some of the important character roles in this movie. Actress Honey Rose is also part of the movie. The First look poster of the movie out recently.
Earlier in an interview Vinayan said that, “The movie is not about Kalabhavan Mani, but is based on his life. The life of a talented boy from a lower caste who makes it big in the film industry and how he slowly loses grip of it. It will shed light on how our society still marginalises dark-skinned people.” Kalabhavan Mani made his debut with My Dear Kuttichathan in 1984 and has since then acted in numerous films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

The actor also went on to win the Special Jury Award in 2000 for Vasantiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum and the Kerala State Film Award for his role in the same film in 1999. Kalabhavan Mani died on the night of 6 March 2016, aged 45. Kalabhavan Mani’s untimely death has certainly left a void in the film industry.

Meanwhile Director Vinayan returns back to the industry after 3 years. His last film was Little Superstar which was released in the 2014.Vinayan and Kalabhavan Mani joined for films such as Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum, Karumadi Kuttan, Rakshasa Rajavu, Independence etc.
