Street Lights movie director Shamdat reveals that Kamal Haasan had a role in choosing the title of the movie!

Street Lights is an upcoming bilingual movie of Megastar Mammootty. The movie is made in Tamil and Malayalam and is directed by Cinematographer turned director Shamdat Sainudeen. 

Shamdat Sainudeen, has been the cinematographer of Uttama Villain and now the cinematographer of upcoming Vishwaroopam 2, and he is now turned director with the bilingual Street Lights. Mammootty himself is producing the movie under the banner of his own production house Play House Motion Picture.The movie is shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil. And also the movie will get a dubbed Telugu version. 

This is the first time Mammootty is getting a release in Multiple languages. “It’s an entertaining thriller, and the Tamil version is set in Chennai. We have cast a different set of actors for Tamil and Malayalam versions. Prithvi Pandirajan, Black Paandi, Sreeram (of Pasanga fame), Naan Kadavul Rajendran, Stunt Silva and Semmalar are acting in the Tamil version. Mammootty sir, who is the lead character, plays a gritty cop. Pandiarajan will be seen in a crucial role,” informs Shamdat, who reveals that Kamal Haasan had a role in choosing this title. 
The director who is a die-hard fan of Kamal Haasan says that, “I told him that I was making a film and that I was not able to find a title in Tamil for it. He was the one who suggested that I retain Street Lights as the title in the Tamil version, too. When I told him I was apprehensive about having an English title because they don’t give tax exemption here if the title is not in Tamil, he assured me and said that the rules were going to change soon, so I need not worry. In fact, he felt that an English title will help my film stand apart.” But he says that he has not discussed the script with Kamal. “I have not told him the script, as I believe that only those associated with a film should know its script. In fact, I haven’t even discussed the script in entirety with my actors. 

Only Mammootty sir knows it, and that’s mainly because he is the producer,” he says. The script of the movie is by Fawaz Muhammed who is a newcomer. Debutant Adarsh Abraham is the music director of the movie. As per reports, there is no heroine for the movie.But actress Lijomol Jose will be doing an important role in the movie. Actors like Joy Mathew, Indrans, Dharmajan, Hareesh Kanaran, Sudhi Kopa, Neena Kurup, Sohan Seenulal are part of the Malayalam version of the movie. The movie is Shot in Kochi, Chennai, and Pollachi. Streetlights is all set to hit screens on January 26.
