Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Veere Di Wedding movie’ release postponed to June 1st

Veere Di Wedding movie starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania will get a release on June 1st this year. The makers of the upcoming female buddy comedy film have decided to push the release date. 

The movie, which was earlier supposed to release on May 18, will now hit the theatres on June 1.There has been massive anticipation surrounding the film ever since its announcement, as two power producers Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor came together to present a fun ride that explores the spirit of the modern day Indian woman. Ekta Kapoor said, “This is definitely going to be a wedding to remember. We are happy to announce that Veere Di Wedding will release on the 1st June 2018.” 

And Rhea Kapoor said, “ We are hoping that Veere Di Wedding will usher in a new phase in the Hindi film industry. Nothing like this has been attempted before and we hope it’s a fun ride for the audience.”The movie is directed by Shashank Ghosh and written by Mehul Suri and Nidhi Mehra.

In December 2015, Sonam Kapoor indicated that she would be working on a project with her sister Rhea Kapoor. The project was officially announced in June 2016. The project was delayed due to Kareena Kapoor’s pregnancy. Principal photography began in September 2017. The movie will be shot in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangkok.Although Bollywood actresses Katrina Kaif and Huma Qureshi were cast, they left the project. Swara Bhaskar and Kareena Kapoor agreed to act in the film.Sumeet Vyas was cast as Kareena’s boyfriend. The film is directed by Shashanka Ghosh, who earlier helmed Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan starrer Khoobsurat in 2014. 

The makers had earlier released the first look of the film and from the looks of it, one can say that the film will revolve around a wedding and will explore the female friendships in the plot.
