Nayanthara in Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 Movie!

Recent reports from Kollywood says that actress Nayanthara will be next seen in Kamal Haasan’s upcoming movie Indian 2 which is a sequel to ‘Indian’ movie released in 1996. The sequel was officially announced at the grand finale of Tamil reality show Bigg Boss. 

The project marks the reunion of Kamal and Shankar after a long hiatus and the latter had said that it’s been his long time desire to make Indian 2 and that it couldn’t have happened at a better time. The film was announced as a bilingual to be made in Tamil and Telugu in the production of popular producer Dil Raju. However, not long ago, the project was taken over by Lyca Productions after the producer of the original, A.M Rathnam, claimed royalty for the title and Dil Raju couldn’t negotiate a deal. 
The latest update is that Nayanthara is in talks to be play the leading lady in the film. If signed for the project, this will be her first outing with Haasan, who will return as the freedom fighter turned vigilante Senapathy, the role which the actor popularised as ‘Indian Thatha’.While A.R Rahman was originally speculated to be the composer, latest reports hint that Anirudh Ravichander is mostly likely to be brought on board. The rest of the cast and crew will be finalised soon. The project was launched on Republic Day with Shankar lighting a sky lantern in Taiwan. But now, it looks like the project might just get more exciting. 

1996 film Indian had Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar as the female leads.The industry buzz is that since 2.0 is facing a delay due to VFX, it might take longer for Indian 2 to hit the screens. The film was originally scheduled to release in the latter half of this year.If the rumours prove to be true, this will be the first time Nayanthara will be paired opposite the Ulaganayagan. Interestingly, her big break Chandramukhi was alongside Superstar Rajinikanth.
