Mammootty to team up with Shafi and Rafi for a Movie!

Recent reports from Mollywood says that Megastar Mammootty will be soon teaming up with director brothers Shafi and Rafi for a movie. Mammootty starrer Mayavi which hit the screens in 2007 was a film that set theatres on a serious laughing spree.

The megastar, as per the reports, is all set to join hands with Shafi and Rafi, the duo behind Mayavi. The new venture will be directed by Shafi while his brother Rafi is penning the script. Rafi is currently busy with the upcoming Dileep starrer Professor Dinkan and once the movie is wrapped up the duo will start the works for their new venture with Mammootty. Shafi has earlier teamed up Mammootty for movies such as Thommanum Makkalum, Chattambinadu, and Venicile Vyapari.
It’s a twin delight for filmmaker brothers ‘ Shafi and Rafi. After their collaboration in ‘Two Countries’, the duo will once again team up for the film with Mammootty playing the lead. On the upcoming movie that is set to go on floors this year, Rafi told that, ‘It will have a humorous subject because that is our forte. That’s all I can reveal right now because we have only completed the preliminary discussions at this point.’ Meanwhile Mammootty has Parole, Uncle and Peranbu as his upcoming releases.

He is currently shooting for Shaji Padoor’s Abrahaminte Santhathikal after which he will be joining the sets of writer Sethu’s maiden directorial Oru Kuttandan Blog. Director Shafi is best known for directing comedy films.He has also directed a Tamil film.

Shafi made his directorial debut with One Man Show in 2001. He has directed over 10 films. His notable movies are Dileep starrer Kalyanaraman (2002), Pulival Kalyanam (2003), Mammooty’s Thommanum Makkalum (2005), Mayavi (2007), Two Countries (2015). He is currently busy with Oru pazhaya bomb katha starring Prayaga Martin and Bibin George.
