Dulquer Salmaan – Keerthy Suresh movie Mahanati release date is out!
Keerthy Suresh’s upcoming movie Mahanati which is a biopic on the legendary actress Savitri’s shooting is currently going at a brisk pace. The makers of the film has announced the release date of the film on the occasion of Ugadi. The much awaited biopic will now release on May 9th.
Keerthy Suresh is playing the role of Savitri in the biopic and the first look posters which were released a few days back had got a good response from the audience. Nag Ashwin of Yevade Subramaniam fame is directing the film which has a huge star cast from different film industries. The project was originally scheduled to release on March 30. However, the makers have confirmed that the film, which is high on visual effects, can’t make it to theatres this month and will hit the screens on May 9. The film will be released in Tamil as Nadigaiyar Thilagam and as Mahanati in Telugu.
Dulquer Salmaan, who makes his Telugu debut via this project, will be seen playing actor Gemini Ganesan. With massive set pieces, the film will be unlike anything that’s explored in Indian cinema. Also starring Samantha Akkineni, Vijay Deverakonda, Shalini Pandey and Prakash Raj, the film is being made on a lavish scale. It was also reported recently that Naga Chaitanya Akkineni is the latest addition to the film’s cast; he will essay the role of his late grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao. There were also an inkling that Jr NTR might also feature in the film, portraying the role of his grandfather and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR Sr).
Apart from being a celebrated onscreen pair, Savithri and Gemini Ganesan were also married in real life.An image of Keerthy and Dulquer as Savithri and Gemini Ganesan went viral recently. While some claimed that the picture was leaked, some reports suggest that it was a fan made poster.
However, one can’t deny that the lead actors have nailed their looks and their avatars looked unimaginably close to original personalities. The pictures are also said to have silenced people who had earlier criticised casting Keerthy Suresh as Savithri.
