Prithviraj Sukumaran (born 16 October 1982) is an Indian film actor, producer, playback singer, and director, who primarily works in the Malayalam film industry.[3] Additionally, he has also associated with Bollywood, Tamil, and Telugu industries.[4] In a career spanning over a decade, Prithviraj has appeared in more than 90 films.[5]
The son of actors Sukumaran and Mallika, Prithviraj was first spotted by director Fazil. Fazil’s screen test of Prithviraj prompted director Ranjith to cast him in the 2002 romantic-drama film Nandanam, his acting debut.[6] Prithviraj has won two Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actor for his performances in Vaasthavam (2006) and Ayalum Njanum Thammil & Celluloid (both 2012), one Tamil Nadu State Award for Best Villain for his performance in Kaaviya Thalaivan (2014), and a National Film Award (as producer) for Indian Rupee (2011).
