Unni Mukundan files Extortion case against a Woman

Actor Unni Mukundan filed an extortion case against a woman. The Kochi city police has started a probe on a complaint lodged by actor Unni Mukundan against a woman accusing her of indulging in blackmailing and extortion attempts. According to the cops, the case pertains to an incident took place on August 23, this year. 

Reportedly, a woman hailing from Ottappalam had approached the actor with a request to read out a screenplay and reached his rented house at Edappally. Upon finding out she has not completed the screenplay, the actor refused to entertain her any further. Later, she contacted the actor over the phone and threatened to file a police complaint against him for rape.

Soon after, a man who introduced himself as an advocate called up the actor and demanded that he either marry the woman or give her ?25 lakh as compensation. The actor first lodged the case at Ottappalam and the complaint was later shifted to Cheranelloor police station. The case was registered under sections 385, 506 and 34 of the IPC for putting a person in fear or injury in order to commit extortion. Meanwhile, Unni Mukundan has Mammootty’s Masterpiece as his upcoming release. Masterpiece will hit theatres during this Christmas season. And the movie titled Chanakyatanthram is another upcoming movie of the actor. 

The movie directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam is an action thriller. The movie is scripted by Dinesh Pallathu, who had earlier worked with him in ‘Aadupuliyattam’ as well.The film also has Sivada, Sruthi Ramachandran, Sai Kumar, Sampath and Dharmajan Bolgatty doing the other major roles. The film’s music is by Shaan Rahman and lyrics by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. The love thriller has Unni playing a scheming fighter, reminiscing the legendary Chanakya. Anoop Menon also plays an equally important role in the film. Telugu movie Bhagmathi is another upcoming movie of the actor in which he will be sharing screen space with Anushka Shetty.
