Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai inching towards 300 crores in Box-Office

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s recent release Tiger Zinda Hai is inching towards 300 crores in Box-Office. The movie has been breaking records at the box-office since its release. It has now cemented its position as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2017. 

The film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, has whooshed past Rs 250 crore effortlessly and is heading to the Rs 300 crore mark. The last time Salman Khan acted in a film helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, was Sultan, which smashed records and went on to become a huge blockbuster. Tiger Zinda Hai is no different. And also Tiger Zinda Hai marked the onscreen reunion of Salman and Katrina Kaif after a gap of five long years. The film was released on 22 December 2017. With a budget of ?1.5 billion, including marketing and advertisements, it is one of the most expensive Indian films. 

The spy-thriller, Tiger Zinda Hai is a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster, Ek Tha Tiger, revolves around Salman as Tiger, a RAW agent, and Katrina as Zoya, a ISI (Inter-services Intelligence) agent, and their deadly mission to rescue 25 nurses, who have been held hostage by a terrorist organization.
The film that is now chasing numbers achieved by Salman Khan’s past releases, will have to cross Rs 320.34 crore made by Bajrangi Bhaijaan or at least Rs 300. 45 crore made by Sultan to set new records. 

Apart from Salman and Katrina, Tiger Zinda Hai stars Sajjad Delafrooz, Angad Bedi, Paresh Pahuja, Paresh Rawal, Girish Karnad and Anant Vidhaat Sharma. Salman credits Katrina and the team for the humongous success of the film. While she told news reporters, “As an actor, I always want to be part of movies that audiences thoroughly enjoy and the feedback that I’m getting from audiences is overwhelming and extremely satisfying.” The filming of the movie took place in Abu Dhabi, Austria, Greece, and Morocco. 

The last song of the movie was shot in the Aegean island of Naxos, Greece in October 2017. The film received U/A certificate from Central Board of Film Certification.Despite having a song featuring Pakistani singer Atif Aslam, the film has not been given No-Objection Certificate by Central Board of Film Censors in Pakistan, stating the reason as was said for Ek Tha Tiger that “The image of Pakistan and its law enforcement agencies” have been compromised.
