Ripper Chandran New Malayalam Movie Announcement

‘Kammattipadam’ fame Manikandan Achari will play the role of ‘Ripper’ Chandran, a serial killer who terrorized Kerala in 1980’s with a series of brutal murders. Debutante Santhosh Puthukkunu will direct the movie named ‘Ripper’ in which Manikandan will play the notorious character.

Renjiraj Karinthalam wrote the story for Ripper while K Saji scripted the movie, the shooting of which will start by July. Main locations of the movie will be Kasargod, Kannur, and Shimoga.

‘Ripper’ Chandran, who sowed fear by killing people by breaking skulls, got his nickname as his modus-operandi was similar to that of infamous American serial killer, ‘Jack the Ripper’. Chandran was found guilty of killing fourteen people before he was found and arrested by Kerala police. In 1991 he was hanged to death at Kannur central jail.
