Some reports from Kollywood says that, Rajinikanth’s 2.0 Movie, which was to release on April 27 will now release a few months later. But the makers of the film are yet to make an official announcement on the release date of the film which has Akshay Kumar playing the role of an antagonist. 2.0

Directed by S Shankar the film made on a budget of Rs.450 crore, is touted to be the costliest film made in the history of Indian cinema. 2.0′ is a sequel to superhit 2010 Tamil film ‘Enthiran’ which had Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead. Amy Jackson is the female lead in 2.0 movie. The film’s music is by AR Rahman.The sci-fi drama will see Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. Amy-Jacksons
The latest update from the ace director is that work on the teaser is going in full swing and is taking time due to a lot of CG work. He has revealed that the teaser will be released once the CG works are completed.The movie 2.0 is produced by Lyca Productions. And the movie is written by Shankar and co-written by B. Jeyamohan. The movie will be shot in Tamil and Hindi. A dubbed Telugu version will also be released on the first day. The film is expected to be released in 15 languages. The movie will hit around 1000 screens all over the world. 2.0

Shankar held initial discussions with Kamal Haasan, Aamir Khan, and then Vikram about portraying a further role, though none of the three actors signed on to appear in the film. Subsequently, the team held talks with Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger for the role, who agreed to work on the film for a record remuneration. But the makers then opted against signing Schwarzenegger, though there have been conflicting reasons regarding this decision. After further negotiations with actors including Hrithik Roshan and Neil Nitin Mukesh, the makers signed on Akshay Kumar to portray the role for which Schwarzenegger was initially considered.
