Nayanthara to play the female lead of Ajith’s Viswasam

Actress Nayanthara has been roped in to play the female lead of Thala Ajith’s upcoming movie Viswasam directed by Siva. The film was announced in November, and pre-production work has been going on in full swing. However, there was speculation around who Ajith’s leading lady would be, with Anushka, Tamannaah and Keerthy Suresh said to be the frontrunners. 

Now, a source in the film’s team tells us that it is Nayanthara who has been roped in as the heroine. “Nayanthara will be the female lead in Viswasam and she has signed on the dotted line. This will mark the fourth time that Nayanthara will be pairing up with Ajith. 

They had first come together for Billa, and then acted in Aegan and Arramabam,” says the source. Viswasam will feature North Chennai as its backdrop. To be produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the film will see Ajith going back to sporting black hair, after popularizing the salt-and-pepper look in all three previous collaborations with Siva.

A source close to Ajith has confirmed that the actor has dyed his hair black and is gearing up for shoot. “A mutual decision by Ajith sir and director Siva was taken to change the look this time. He no longer will be seen in salt-and-pepper look and instead will sport full black hair. He has already dyed his hair.”While the names of Yuvan Shankar Raja, Anirudh, Sam CS and Harris Jayaraj are doing the rounds, we hear that the team is yet to finalize the music director. 

Siva’s regular collaborator Vetri will be handling the cinematography. Unlike Vivegam, which was almost entirely abroad, Viswasam will be shot in India, the source adds. The shoot of the film is likely to begin in March, and the makers have already announced that the film will be released for Deepavali. An official announcement regarding the cast and crew is expected to be made very soon.
