Director Ranjith’s upcoming movie Bilathikatha starring Niranj Raju and Anu Sithara will go on floors in February 2018. 14208204

The movie is titled as ‘Bilathikatha’ because it is completely shot in England. ‘Bilathi’ is a word used in Malayalam for ‘England’. The film which was announced last year was supposed to go on floors in London in October 2017. However, Ranjith had told that the team has postponed the shoot to next year.The director had earlier told that the movie will see Niranjan playing an illegal immigrant in the UK while Anu’s character is employed in London. 18019-Bobby-Malayalam-Movie-13

The film, which is scripted by Sethu, will have an ensemble cast featuring Jewel Mary, Kaniha, Dileesh Pothan, Kalabhavan Shajon, Suresh Krishna and director V M Vinu. Maha Subair produces the movie under the banner of Maha Subair Movies. Prasanth Pillai is cranking the camera for the movie. anu-sithara-hd-wallpaper
It was also reported that Megastar Mammootty will be doing a cameo role in the movie. Mammootty and director Ranjith have often made for a stupendous team.While the duo’s last outing together Puthenpannam was critically panned despite the megastar’s performance, they will once again be teaming up for the director’s upcoming movie.Meanwhile, Bilathikatha’s scriptwriter Sethu will be directing Mammootty in his debut directorial Oru Kuttanadan Blog. Director Ranjith who is also a screenwriter, producer, and actor is known for his work in Malayalam cinema. He is popular for the films Raavanaprabhu (2001), Thirakkatha (2008), Paleri Manikyam (2009), Pranchiyettan & the Saint (2010), Indian Rupee (2011) and Spirit (2012).In the year 2001, Ranjith made his directorial debut with Ravanaprabhu, a sequel to Devaasuram. His directorial ventures Thirakkatha and Indian Rupee won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam in 2008 and 2011 respectively.  More details about Ranjith’s Bilathikatha will be soon out.
